How to review Etsy statement CSV activity and recorded payouts
Statement activity and recorded payouts are different measures. This tool groups signed activity by type and separates supported Deposit or Payout rows. It does not calculate your business profit or verify money received by a bank.
Open the free tool ↗Step by step
- Choose one statement period and one currency. Keep the original export; raw Etsy column layouts vary and some need manual preparation.
- Prepare a UTF-8 CSV up to 10 MB with Type, Net and Currency. Every row needs the same explicit currency. Use signed values: a fee or refund should reduce activity when recorded as a negative amount.
- Open Statement Activity Review and create the report. Supported Deposit or Payout rows are counted separately; when Net is blank or --, these rows can use an Amount column.
- Review the grouped activity, absolute recorded payouts and their difference. Compare against the original records before drawing a conclusion. Download CSV for Excel if helpful.
A small worked example
All data below is synthetic.
Type,Net,Currency
Sale,120.00,USD
Fee,-8.40,USD
Refund,-10.00,USD
Deposit,-95.00,USDFor this synthetic example, recorded activity is 101.60 USD, recorded payouts are 95.00 USD, and the difference is 6.60 USD. That difference does not establish missing money or profit.
What to check before using the result
Opening balances, reserves, pending funds and mismatched period boundaries can explain a difference. Mixed currencies and missing signed amounts are rejected. The report does not reconcile a bank account, prepare tax records or include costs outside the file.
Does activity minus payouts equal my Etsy profit?
No. Payouts describe transfers and activity describes the supported rows in the file. Business costs, balances, reserves and timing can differ. Treat the report as an organized starting point for reviewing records.

The online tool is free. Optional offline copies cost $26.99 each and provide the same core analysis.
